This presentation will discuss 1) a framework for evaluating exposures to reproductive and developmental toxicants 2) basic reproductive and developmental toxicology concepts 3) ergonomic issues as an important component of the RDHA and 4) controlling these hazards based on real-life examples. Using selected (privacy-protected) employee scenarios, attendees will have the opportunity to conduct an RDHA for a chemical manufacturing facility. Reproductive and developmental hazard assessments are critical hazard identification and control plans used to prevent adverse health effects in both male and female reproductive systems. This interactive session will provide S&H professionals with the basic concepts needed to develop and execute a reproductive and developmental hazard assessment (RDHA). McCoy, M.S., CIH, DABT, Exponent senior managing scientist, will present “Protecting Workers’ Reproductive and Developmental Health” on Wednesday, May 26, at 12:15 PM PT/2:15 PM CT. The session will benefit students entering the profession, current professionals working to obtain the CIH, and their employers. The perspectives will cover self-assessment, gathering study materials, forming a game plan, and getting mentally focused for the exam. This educational session will cover perspectives on exam preparation and an overview of the requirements needed for the exam.
