The fabric emulator allows you to create the designs with fabric rendering. You can track the sewing output on the avatar or garment.

The CLO3D sewing tool allows you to join the pieces with segment sewing, free sewing, or other tools.

You can both create and edit patterns with this feature. It also allows superimpose, smart arrangement, direct positioning, and other advanced tools.ĬLO3D also supports 2D pattern generation with AI curve tools, symmetric design tools, tracing, reference lines, symbols, notch, fold, etc. The 3D arrangement tool allows the user to arrange the garment pieces, folds, and others to create patterns or end pieces. Along with the simulator, CLO3D also has an editing tool to create 3D lines, pattern flattening, freezing, glue trim, selecting meshes (single and multi), and more.

The 3D simulator allows generating real-time simulation, garment movement with the wind, pattern generation, sewing layers, seam lines folding, and others. Since the design is visible in real-time, it is possible to make adequate alterations, reducing the overall production time with CLO3D.ĬLO3D comes with sewing blocks, modular template files, block components, and a configurator to edit the elements mentioned above. There are 23 fabric options, and the designers can even customize new fabrics. The platform helps you to run endless simulations to create patterns, styles, and designs. If it still doesn’t work, try asking in SP forum, in an FB group, in the MD forum, or asking MD’s support.CLO 3D is a cutting edge platform for garment designing and visualization. If the texture is misaligned or the wrong size, try to use the texture transform tool to scale the texture or move the textures into place. If the UVs and the scale are correct, when you import the SP textures as a texture image on a fabric in MD it should work just like importing an image from Photoshop. If you DO need to animate the clothes and render them in MD with SP textures, make sure you first export the MD clothes with correct UV maps and correct scale to SP. If you want to animate the clothes in MD, you can do that without the SP textures, then export the animated clothes to another 3D program, and then apply textures to them in the other 3D program. I usually make the clothes in MD with whatever color to texture placeholder, then export them to Substance Painter to texture them, and then export from SP to (any) program to render the clothes in (or render them in SP). If you want to render the textured clothes or just texture them for a game/project, MD is not a good place to render. Honestly, I’ve never tried (or needed) to export for SP back to MD.

To change the position of patterns in your UV map, use the Transform Pattern tool (3) and click on the clothing patterns and move them around.īe careful that you don’t rotate the clothing patterns or scale them as that will update your Garment in the 3D Garment window (see right image).

See the screenshot below. Clicking the eye icon (1) will hide or show your UV map and clicking the UV tool (2) will enable you to scale the light blue border around your UV map. In Marvelous Designer 5 there is a UV tool to help you visualize your UV map. The Marvelous Designer clothing patterns you create are your UVs.
#CLO3D FBX CLOTH ANIMATION WITH MATERIALS HOW TO#
How to get UV maps for your Marvelous Designer Garments? It’s pretty simple to get Marvelous Designer clothes into Substance Painter, there are just two things you need to look out for. In Substance Painter you can paint directly onto your clothes or onto the maps, easily add stitches, fabric grain, decorative trims, paint designs onto your clothes, and create old worn looking clothes with dirt and spots etc etc.) You can texture your clothes to some extent in Marvelous Designer, by loading in seamless textures and adding 2D graphics, textures of stitches etc, but it is much easier to do texturing in Substance Painter instead. And it’s really fun and useful for texturing Marvelous Designer clothes.

(In case you don’t know what Substance Painter is, it’s an awesome software for texturing 3D models. Here some tips on exporting 3D clothes from Marvelous Designer to Substance Painter.
